Terms of Use
Unfined is a transit ticket validation reminder for European travelers. By installing or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
What Unfined does
Unfined sends notifications reminding you to validate transit tickets when it detects you have entered a station or boarded a tram or bus. Detection uses iOS geofencing and motion sensors. The app is a reminder tool — nothing more.
What Unfined does not do
- It does not validate your ticket. Only you can do that, at the validator machine.
- It does not guarantee that a reminder will fire on time, or at all. iOS may defer or miss geofence events for many reasons — poor GPS signal, low-power mode, motion-sensor inaccuracy, or system-level scheduling delays. This is a documented limitation of iOS background processing, not a defect in the app.
- It does not exempt you from local transit rules. If you ride without a valid, validated ticket, you can be fined regardless of whether Unfined reminded you.
Your responsibility
You remain solely responsible for buying a valid ticket and validating it according to the rules of the transit network you are using. Treat Unfined as a backup memory aid, not a replacement for paying attention.
No warranty
Unfined is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will function without interruption or error, that reminders will fire on time, or that bundled station data and rules are complete or current.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer of Unfined is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the app — including, without limitation, fines, penalties, missed connections, or loss of property — even if a reminder failed to fire, fired late, or contained inaccurate information.
Apple's terms also apply
Unfined is distributed via the App Store. Your use of the app is also governed by Apple's standard End User License Agreement, which applies in addition to these terms. Where the two conflict, Apple's EULA controls for matters within its scope (installation, App Store account management); these terms control for matters specific to the app's behavior and your use of it.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will reflect any change. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
